OUR

MISSION

Driven by a spirit of curiosity and creativity, Planet Enterprises fosters the development of groundbreaking technologies and space mission concepts. We explore uncharted territories, focusing on the design and development of novel robotic systems and the science-focused missions that they support.

"Provide ships or sails adapted to the heavenly breezes, and there will be some who will brave even that void."

INNOVATIVE CONCEPTS

Our innovative projects truly run the gamut in space exploration. We've developed a groundbreaking concept for autonomous drilling robots, affectionately known as Borebots. We've pioneered methods for Active Debris Removal that are now being pursued by the entire industry. And not to mention our novel spaceplane concept - a unique design that drinks Titan's rain and lands on its methane seas. These are just a few examples of how we're pushing the boundaries and redefining what's possible.

What's up next? Crops that water themselves, swarming mining robots, and a novel approach to deep-space crew psychology that leverages AI language models to tap into the power of a co-pilot like HAL (but maybe without the lip-reading).

MISSION FORMULATION & TECHNICAL EXPERTISE

Planet Enterprises excels in the formulation and management of early space mission development, leveraging a blend of creativity, technical expertise, and project management proficiency to transform innovative ideas into reality. Our holistic approach considers all stages of mission formulation – from concept development to design and execution, ensuring each project aligns with strategic objectives and can leverage income streams from government and industry partners. We drive the transformation of space technology by turning abstract concepts into viable space missions.

OUR HISTORY

Planet Enterprises has been pushing the boundaries of innovation since its inception in the summer of 2000, when an unlikely group of highschoolers put together a crazy proposal for an even crazier Navy SBIR call. We introduced the concept of a Dynamic Compression Valveless Pulsejet as a propulsion system for a high-speed, super-cavitating undersea weapon system that was in development at the time. Our approach relied on a jet engine (with no moving parts), which used aluminum as a hydro-reactive fuel. This marked our first venture into the world of high-stakes innovation, where 'losing' builds character and winning makes headlines.

Today, we keep the torch of innovation held high, having shifted our focus from the deep range to the final frontier. Our active projects are poised to introduce an entire generation of high school students to extraterrestrial robotic drilling, change the way we think about life in the clouds on other planets, and set the stage for cost-effective space environment remediation. As we look toward the future, we hope to enable large-scale agriculture on-orbit by training plants to water themselves, develop new methods of resource extraction that leverage social swarming, and change the way crew psychology is approached for deep-space missions by leveraging AI language models to facilitate strong crew support networks. Join us on our journey as we strive to expand our understanding of the universe and our place within it.
